Medium woven pendant lamp high life M : Midnight Black meets natural straw Colour: midnight (black) Are you looking for a lamp that combines tradition and elegance? This medium size pendant lamp with black and natural stripes will fill your room with playful light motifs. This round circular lamp with it’s many open weave stripes (measuring 45cm x 25cm), will add vivacity to your home. Description of the medium woven pendant lamp HIGH LIFE M : Designed in the GOLDEN studio by Sara Efia Reddin, this contemporary artisanal lamp upholds an artisanal tradition of basket weaving to create a beautiful decorative object. This natural pendant lamp is woven by hand using a traditional basket weaving technic from Bolgatanga, in the north of Ghana. The delicate open weave stripes spread light patterns across walls. The lamp is assembled to order in our workshop, now based in Barcelona, with twisted black cables and brass fixtures giving it a retro feel. Woven with the grass Veta Vera, which is naturally durable. This medium black pendant lamp is very stylish in a bedroom, a kitchen, in a living room or hallway. This pendant light is perfect alone or in a set, accumulated with other lamps in the collection. Technics used to make the medium woven pendant lamp HIGH LIFE M : Basket weaving from Bolgatanga is a a traditional African weaving technic. The grass Veta Vera grows locally in Ghana. The reeds are twisted by hand and small batches are coloured using vegetable or food dyes in cauldrons. Variations in the tone can be found so each piece feels unique. The weaving is tight and smooth. Our lamps are woven by an association of weavers, these weavers have honed their art to make our contemporary shapes. This lamp takes 3-4 days to weave Why choose this pendant lamp… ? To own one of our pendant lamps, is to encourage the modernisation of a wonderful tradition, inspiring and supporting the weaving communities by introducing their art to the contemporary design world. Characteristics The lamp is sold ready to hang with : ? 2 meters of twisted cloth covered cable, colour Black; ? Black lamp holder ; ? Black Ceiling Rose with a brushed Brass cable grip ; ? Accessories in brushed and polished brass ; ? CE certified electrics bought in Europe ; ? UL certified parts are available upon request ; ? Structure woven by hand, height approximately 22 cm and diameter approximately 45cm ; ? Available in 3 colours : Midnight (black), Noisette (earthy brown), Herb (bottle green), Please note : we recommend, using a LED bulb max. 8w Please do not forget that this lamp is woven by hand and the slight differences in shape and colour are completely normal. Please also remember that the material is natural and therefore we do not recommend them for use outside or on terraces or hanging in a hot humid room in front of a window. The colours are natural and may fade if hung in direct sunlight. Golden Editions believes that artisanal is the new luxury. Our lamps and cushions are made by hand to be treasured.. 10 % of the price (HT) goes to initiatives in the weaving communities.
