Large Woven Pendant Lamp SHADOW : A decorative wonder Colour: Natural and Midnight (Black) Do you like patterns and light? We can create magical shadows in your home with our large pendant lamp with it’s open weave woven like lace with touches of black (measuring 55cm x 22cm), it will add natural drama and creativity to your home. This pendant light is perfect alone or accumulated with other lamps in the collection. Description of the woven pendant lamp SHADOW The lamp was designed in our studio by Sara Efia Reddin, the contemporary shape and detailing elevates a timeless artisanal traditional to create an unforgettable decorative object. This natural pendant lamp is woven by hand using a traditional basket weaving technic from Bolgatanga, in the north of Ghana. The delicate open weave stripes spread light patterns across walls. Only the master weavers can achieve the details in the Shadow lamps. The lamp is assembled to order in our workshop now based in Barcelona, with CE certified electrics and brass fixtures. Woven with the grass Veta Vera, which is naturally durable. This large pendant lamp in natural and black is magnificent above a dining table, in a bedroom, in a living room or hallway. Technics used to make the SHADOW pendant lamp Basket weaving from Bolgatanga is a a traditional African weaving technic. The grass Veta Vera grows locally. The reeds are twisted by hand and small batches are coloured using vegetable or food dyes in cauldrons. The weaving is tight and smooth. Our lamps are woven by an association of weavers, these weavers have honed their art to make our contemporary shapes. This lamp takes 5-6 days to weave Why choose this pendant lamp… ? To own one of our pendant lamps, is to encourage the modernisation of a wonderful tradition, inspiring and supporting the weaving communities by introducing their art to the contemporary design world. Characteristics The lamp is sold ready to hang with : ? 2 meters of cloth covered twisted cable, colour Black; ? Black lamp holder ; ? Black Ceiling Rose with brushed Brass ceiling grip; ? Accessories in brushed and polished brass ; ? CE certified electrics bought in Europe ; ? UL certified parts are available upon request ; ? Structure woven by hand, height approximately 22 cm and diameter approximately 55 cm ; ? Available in 3 colours : Natural/Midnight (black), Ginger (terracotta)/Pink and Herb(bottle green)/ Violet Please note : we recommend, using a LED bulb max. 8w Please do not forget that this lamp is woven by hand and the slight differences in shape and colour are completely normal. Please also remember that the material is natural and therefore we do not recommend them for use outside or on terraces or hanging in a hot humid room in front of a window. The colours are natural and may fade if hung in direct sunlight. Golden Editions believes that artisanal is the new luxury. Our lamps and cushions are made by hand to be treasured.. 10 % of the price (HT) goes to initiatives in the weaving communities.
