About the Item

A fine gilt-bronze cut-glass tent and bag chandelier with finely cast entwined dolphins. French, circa 1900. This fine chandelier has a gilt-bronze acanthus corona above a foliate band, from which is suspended chains of graduated octagonal flatback beads to an elaborate gilt-bronze gallery, finely cast with fronded acanthus and entwined dolphins. Plain icicle drops are suspended from the edge of the gallery while below is a basket of further graduated octagonal flatbacks above a gilt-bronze foliate cast terminal.
