A spectacular one-of-a-kind suspended sculpture by Italian artist Davide Moretto, handcrafted from papier-mâché, resin and gold leaf detailing.
“Manta” captures the majestic fluidity of a manta ray gliding through the depths — a luminous, weightless form suspended in air. Its organic body, sculpted and textured by hand, is illuminated from within by integrated LED lighting, tracing the contours of its wings and gills with a soft, ethereal glow.
The surface, hand-painted in layered shades of deep ultramarine and black, is crossed by delicate golden veins, an homage to the Japanese art of Kintsugi, celebrating imperfection and rebirth. The combination of natural fragility and metallic opulence gives the sculpture a powerful symbolic resonance — a poetic reflection on resilience, transformation, and the meeting of light and matter.

Davide Moretto
Davide Moretto is an artist-designer whose work sits at the intersection of art, design, and craftsmanship.
