About the Item

A decorative and most elegant Italian early 18th century Louis Baroque Period Giltwood, Iron and Crystal chandelier. This impressive eight arm chandelier is centered at the bottom by a wonderful Giltwood ball finial with a foliate band, below the most decorative and boldly carved scrolled acanthus leaf designed body. The eight scrolled patinated Iron arms display Gilt accented acanthus leaves leading to the foliate designed Giltwood saucer and candle cup. The arms are elegantly joined by swaging Crystal garlands, while surrounding the central finial in the shape of a sunflower with a cut Crystal dagger above. The body of the chandelier is held by square and oval cut Glass garlands leading to the top Giltwood crown. The crown is decorated by a central finial with a hanging cut Crystal ball and additional elongated spike shaped Crystals.
