RARE EXTRA LARGE ANTIQUE OPALINE PENDANT LIGHT A rare large size of 400mm diameter, these lights were reclaimed for an industrial mill just outside of Bradford. British made circa 1920. The beautiful Opaline Milk Glass is hand blown to a wonderful elegant shape with a large 6" fitter neck fits to an original spun brass gallery. The glass has been cleaned and polished and the gallery has been cleaned back enough to show through the warm tones of he brass but still keeps enough ageing to hold its charm and character. The light comes complete with complimenting aged brass chain and ceiling rose. THE TERM SCHOOLHOUSE PENDANTS Vintage opaline schoolhouse pendant lights are a type of lighting fixture that was commonly used in schools and other public buildings during the early to mid-20th century. These lights typically feature a simple yet elegant design, with a white or off-white opaline glass shade that provides a soft, diffused light. The shades are usually globe-shaped, with a flared or tapered base that attaches to a metal fixture or chain. The metal fixtures may be finished in a range of colors, from simple black or white to more decorative finishes like brass or bronze. Vintage opaline schoolhouse pendant lights are popular among those seeking to create a retro or vintage-inspired look in their homes or commercial spaces. When renovating our original reclaimed lighting all existing electrical parts are removed and renewed with modern electrical components. All components used are CE certified and our lights are wired tested in line with BSEN Standards. As standard our lights come with 1m of our premium fabric three core cable to a colour of your choice unless stated otherwise in the product description. Generally, ES or BS lamp holders are used unless otherwise stated and are fully compatible with main dimmers and modern LED filament bulbs. Our lights can be wired to bespoke specifications, longer lengths, different cable types and compatibility with specialist dimming systems such as DALI can all be accommodated. Lights supplied to U.S.A and Canada are installed using UL Certified cable and lamp holders. As standard we supply round black fabric cable and E26 holders. Please note that although we use UL certified components our original reclaimed lights do not come with UL certification. Due to the antique nature of our original vintage lights, we cannot offer an official IP rating and cannot guarantee our lights for external use.
