Extra large size and great design, hand carved, antique alabaster chandelier.
Thanks to its timeless design, aesthetic beauty, large size and superb condition this antique alabaster chandelier will be a real eyecatcher in your interior and is bound to light up both your days and evenings. It is all hand-crafted in the earliest years of the 1900s and because it is hand carved out of one solid rock of alabaster, it must have taken the artisan(s) weeks rather than days to first design this work of beauty on paper and then carve it to perfection (by hand). As you can see in our images, the final product of their artisanship is an absolute joy to look at and you will immediately realize that they don't make 'em like this anymore. The combination of the design and the natural veins and patches in the shade (that have formed in this mineral stone over thousands of years) make it even more special. For it to still be in this amazing condition after 100+ years is like an ode to the craftsmanship of early 20th century artisans. We could shoot many more photos, but you still would not be able to see the true beauty of this shade. In real life (or in person) our antiques always have that little bit extra and this stunning pendant is no exception. Our regular clients (designer and private ones) have learned to take our word for it. Both with the light on and off its aesthetic beauty will never go unnoticed. This thick and beautifully carved alabaster pendant was made to last and last it will and we are certain that generations after you will get to enjoy it too. Just like the large and unique alabaster shade, the original and matching alabaster canopy of this pendant too is as solid and strong as the day it was handmade. The thunderstroke-like black veins contrast even more when the light is switched on. Also, because the dark veins then turn pitch black against a white background that creates a contrast that is amazing to look at. Looking at the deeply carved details that together make the unique design of this shade makes you realize that a very skilled specialist has spent a long time creating this phenomenal work of lighting art. Even if we shot a hundred more photos, you still would not be able to see the true allure of this piece. In real life (or in person) our antiques always have that little bit more and this stunning pendant too is no exception.
