About the Item
Salvaged from a former heavy-engineering factory in northern Poland, this extra-large industrial pendant embodies the robust, functional design language of mid-20th-century Eastern Bloc manufacturing. Produced by Polam Wilkasy, a respected lighting manufacturer operating during the state-controlled industrial era, this fixture was originally engineered for demanding environments such as workshops, fabrication halls and production plants.
A polished aluminium enclosure gives the light a striking architectural presence, topped with a dramatic oversized junction box bearing cast manufacturer’s marks, technical specifications and original Polish and Cyrillic script—each detail a reminder of its industrial heritage.
The large tempered glass dome remains fully intact, protected by a steel safety cage once essential for shielding the glass and lampholder from machinery and equipment on the factory floor. Now sensitively restored for modern interiors, it combines authentic industrial history with sculptural appeal.
A statement piece for kitchens, bars, studios, galleries and commercial spaces seeking true industrial provenance. Rewired and ready for contemporary use.
