Fabbian - Oru F25 Pendant Lamp
The Oru Collection, designed by the young New York studio Vim
Vigor for ICFF 2012, is a true tribute to the art of origami and metal craftsmanship. Far from conventional, Oru transforms a simple metal sheet into a dynamic, ever-changing form that surprises from every angle.
The design process began with traditional brainstorming, evolving through "aha" moments inspired by folded vessels, merging the techniques of cutting, folding, and metal spinning. Each lampshade is meticulously crafted: spun aluminum is cut, bent, and fixed to create an organic shape that appears symmetrical from one viewpoint and delightfully unexpected from another.
The lamp's exterior is a matte black, while the interior features vivid color options-bright green, red, or teal-offering a striking contrast that brings life and personality to any space. For a more luxurious touch, a copper version is available, burnished outside and polished inside.
