Antique French Louis XIV carved wood chandelier is a wonderful example of the style, featuring a boldly carved central shaft in an urn form with multiple tiered pendant below mounted to a large circular acanthus rosette. Just above the rosette is the main body of the central shaft, alternating between 8 pinwheel style rosettes and 8 scrolled arms which project the chandelles out away from the center, and are themselves lavishly carved with foliate motifs.
