About the Item

A colourful suspension lamp in natural brass and painted metal with three glass shades in different colours, designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso, 1960s Descending gently from the ceiling, these three colourful glass shades reveal their vibrant and distinctive character when lit. Designed by Flavio Poli in the 1960s, this suspension lamp is a striking example of Italian glass artistry. Its refined materials and craftsmanship are guaranteed by the renowned Seguso glassworks, which collaborated on the project, bringing their longstanding expertise in fine art glass production. Flavio Poli was a designer who, in the mid-1960s, stood out for a collection of lighting and decorative objects in which his identity as a master glassmaker was expressed with complete freedom of form and colour. He is particularly known for perfecting the vetro sommerso technique, a sophisticated method involving the layering of glass with contrasting densities and hues to achieve remarkable artistic effects. This fully artisanal technique earned him the Compasso d’Oro award in 1954. The chandelier presented here is an original from the period and remains in excellent condition. It features a brass ceiling mount with three supporting arms, from which hang the coloured glass shades, each held by a painted metal socket. The adjustable cable length makes it easy to adapt to a variety of interior settings. Dimensions: 110h (adjustable) × 34d × 43w cm ≈ 43.3h × 13.4d × 16.9w inches
