About the Item

A stunning and most unique French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Epoque Period Nuvolato Rosso marble and Ormolu chandelier. This handsome and statement making six light chandelier is centered at the bottom by a toupie shaped foliate finial with a reeded band accented with intertwined ribbons. Above and wrapping around the Nuvolato Rosso marble body are exceptional and richly chased acanthus leaves. Flanking the acanthus leaves are scrolled supports with recessed central panels displaying Rais de Coeur and reeded designs, while joined by impressive berried laurel swaging garlands above. Above is the most elegant pierced circular Ormolu rim in a stunning satin and burnished finish, which connects the three supports, and surrounds the circular carved interior with six lights. The three supports have large top rings with a rectangular link chain above leading to the top acanthus leaf dome with top lyre shaped Ormolu hook. *Shades, Canopies and Chain shown for display purposes, sold separately.
