About the Item

A captivating eight arm chandelier from 19th century France that reflects transitional, stylistic influences from Bohemian to Belle Epoque. The blue-green tole (painted finish) accented by parcel gilt metal has aged beautifully over the years, developing a crackled and oxidized patina. Decorative leaves in gold gilt featured on each arm of the chandelier make a stylized reference to the Neoclassical tradition. Gorgeous crystal pendalogues and rosettes hang from the multi-tiered frame while faceted round beads strung to the pierced metal bobeches scatter the light from the eight candelabra-base bulbs.
