About the Item

A high quality and most decorative French 19th century Empire Period patinated Bronze and Ormolu chandelier, circa 1805. This wonderful eight light oval shaped chandelier is centered at the bottom by a richly chased foliate finial below the patinated Bronze base plate. A wonderful burnished Ormolu Fleur de Lis band follows the edge of the base, while connecting to the eight scrolled and reeded arms with acanthus leaves and scrolled Rinceau movements below the circular saucers and candle cups. The chandelier is suspended from the original four linked chains joined above. All original gilt and patina throughout. Original Chain Length: 41" *Shades shown for display purposes, sold separately.
