About the Item

An exceptional and unique French 19th century Louis XIV st. Ormolu chandelier. This beautiful four arm chandelier is centered by a reeded acorn bottom final below four 'S' scrolled supports with berried vine chandelles. The supports encase an urn shaped figure with foliate designs throughout. The four 'S' scrolled foliate decorated arms display stunning bobeches with reeded edges and Ormolu candle cups. Between each arm on the platforms edge is a beautiful female profile with finely detailed floral decorations in her hair. The baluster shaped central fut displays a reeded design leading up to the fluted neck with foliate vine chandelles. The top crown is decorated with four Rocaille designed 'S' scrolled acanthus leaves that surround a mottled band below additional draping acanthus leaves. *Shades shown for display purposes, sold separately.
