About the Item

A beautiful and most unique French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and etched frosted crystal chandelier. The four arm eight light chandelier is centered by a beautiful richly chased bottom acorn finial below fine spiral fluted and tied reeded wrap around designs. The stunning etched frosted crystal dome displays lovely extremely decorative foliate designs and houses four light bulbs emitting a wonderful warm glow. Four elegantly curved supports with finely detailed acanthus leaves lead upwards to square supports with swaging berried laurel garlands and a beaded band below superb foliate candle cups. Lightly curved supports with an overlapping patterns are connected by striking swaging berried laurel garlands in a rich satin and burnished finish lead to a wrap around bands with exquisite pierced Vitruvian scrolled designs. Four chains connect to the impressive top crown with an additional acorn finial, lovely fluted designs, charming blooming flowers, and an acanthus leaf top spray. *Shade shown for display purposes only, sold separately.
