About the Item

A lovely and most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. Saxe Porcelain, Gilt Metal and Tole chandelier. This attractive six light six arm chandelier with its original Gilt and patina is centered at the bottom by a gilded acorn finial. Above the finial is the circular patinated frame which introduces the six 'S' scrolled foliate decorated arms adorned with white Saxe Porcelain flowers. Atop the patinated frame is a pierced woven vase with an array of flowers emerging from the top. Leading up to the top crown are three foliate decorated scrolling bands with additional Saxe Porcelain flowers. The top crown is tastefully decorated by a gilded mount with an additional acorn finial below and an acanthus leaf decorated canopy. All original gilt and patina throughout.
