About the Item

A beautiful and most unique French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu, Saxe porcelain and patinated metal four arm chandelier. The chandelier is centered by a charming and wonderfully executed woven ormolu basket from which beautiful and vividly colored hand painted Saxe porcelain flowers are seemingly growing. The four elegantly curved arms are adorned with additional porcelain flowers and lead to fine charming floral candle cups. Luxuriant ormolu branches with patinated leaves and additional colorful blooming flowers intertwine around the arms and the handle of the basket. A spiral fluted support, also decorated in the same manner, leads up a most attractive tied ribbon top crown.
