About the Item

A magnificent French 19th century Neo-Classical st. Alabaster, patinated Bronze and Ormolu chandelier. This six arm thirteen light chandelier has an oval shaped Alabaster moulded base decorated with a pierced Ormolu foliate frieze. The six very decorative scrolled Ormolu arms are adorned with rosette and acanthus leaf designs. The base displays four very impressive finely chased Ormolu eagles with wide spread wings. The base is joined to the top by six patinated Bronze supports with Ormolu foliate mounts and rings, centered by an inverted frosted glass flame. The patinated Bronze top crown is decorated with large Ormolu acanthus leaves and a central spray.
