About the Item

A very attractive and most elegant French 19th century Neo-Classical st. Belle Époque period Ormolu and enameled Bronze chandelier. This impressive six light chandelier is centered by an Ormolu acorn bottom finial attached to a sunburst mount that holds the base of the enameled Bronze body. The body is encased with a beautiful foliate decorated Ormolu band which presents reeded rings displaying musical instruments such as pan flutes and drums, as well as the three winged cherubs. Each winged cherub is dressed in flowing robes and has foliate branches in each hand serving as candle arms. At the center above the elegant lightly curved body is an exquisite blooming Ormolu flower which initiates the spiraling garment designed central fut that leads to the top crown. Joining the central fut leading to the top crown are three swaging tulip bulb garlands that present a wonderful central reserve of crossing trumpets atop a pan flute while being tied off by flowing ribbons. The top crown consists of scrolling foliate designs that connect to the three swaging linked chain garlands below. *Shades, Canopies and Chain shown for display purposes, sold separately.
