About the Item

A unique French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu, Crystal and Wedgwood Porcelain chandelier. This most elegant six arm chandelier is centered at the bottom by a charming Ormolu acorn finial before a foliate designed mount connecting the six protruding arms. Each arm is decorated by acanthus leaves and ends with an elegant female mask with foliate wreaths in their hair. Above each mask is the circular saucer and palmette decorated candle cups. Flanking each arm are oval medallions with one side displaying a central cut Crystal insert and on the other a Wedgwood Porcelain plate. The Wedgwood inserts showcase a blue background and display a family below a tree picking fruits and placing them in a basket. The oval inserts are richly decorated by an outer foliate wreaths. The chandelier is held by the central fut in the form of a tied garment and six strands of beaded garlands leading to a top tied bow. *Shades, Canopies and Chain shown for display purposes, sold separately.
