About the Item
Elegant French Art Deco pendant light featuring richly veined alabaster and refined metal detailing.
This elegant French Art Deco pendant light dates to the circa 1920s and features a beautifully carved alabaster bowl with striking white and dark natural veining. When illuminated, the stone produces a warm, soft glow that highlights the depth and organic movement of the alabaster.
The pendant is suspended by decorative chains and fittings made of brass with a silvery-toned finish. Based on period construction and appearance, this is most likely nickel-plated brass, a common Art Deco technique used to achieve a refined, modern look while retaining the durability of brass beneath.
