French Art Deco White Frosted Glass and Brass Six-Light Chandelier with Birds, ca. 1920
A striking French Art Deco chandelier from circa 1920, crafted from a refined combination of brass, bronze, and frosted glass. The design features a square frosted white glass centerpiece—reminiscent of Tiffany-style glass—surrounded by six downward-facing light sockets. Each socket is adorned with a sculptural bird motif in bronze, lending a unique and decorative flair to the piece.
Suspended from a brass canopy via brass supports, this chandelier balances strong geometric lines with delicate naturalistic details. The four frosted glass lampshades diffuse light softly and evenly. Note that the central frosted glass panel has been replaced at a later date and blends harmoniously with the original design.
It is fitted with six B22 bayonet sockets. Some minor, barely noticeable chips are present on the top edges of the lampshades, consistent with age and adding to the piece’s antique character.
