About the Item
French Art Nouveau pendant light featuring a carved linden wood cherub with gilded wings and a frosted glass shade.
This charming French Art Nouveau pendant light dates to the early 20th century and features a finely carved wooden cherub (putto) in a dynamic, floating pose, suspended from a decorative brass chain. The sculptural figure is crafted with great attention to anatomical detail and expressive movement, typical of the Art Nouveau period’s fascination with natural forms and allegorical motifs.
Gilded wings complement the cherub, subtly highlighted to enhance depth and contrast, and hold a delicate frosted white glass shade shaped like a stylized flower. The softly diffused glass provides a warm, atmospheric glow, making this piece particularly suitable for intimate interiors such as bedrooms, hallways, or decorative corners.
