Refined French Art Nouveau pendant light featuring handcrafted pâte de verre glass with softly opaline diffusion by Muller Strasbourg, suspended on an ornate brass chain, circa 1920.
This elegant French Art Nouveau pendant light dates to the 1920s and features a finely hand-blown glass bowl by Muller Strasbourg, one of the most respected French art glass makers of the period. The glass transitions harmoniously from soft lilac tones at the rim to a luminous opaline-white center, subtly enriched with gentle cloud-like textures and faint mineral inclusions typical of early 20th-century artisanal glassmaking.
The bowl is suspended by an ornate brass chain with sculptural links, complemented by a richly decorated matching brass ceiling canopy. The brass elements introduce a warm, golden contrast to the cool, poetic glass tones, creating a balanced, highly decorative composition. When illuminated, the glass produces a refined, atmospheric glow that emphasizes the nuanced color layering and organic Art Nouveau character.
