French Baguès Style Cage Form Gilt Bronze and Rock Crystal Parrot Chandelier
This chandelier is composed of a gilt bronze cage-form frame adorned with an extensive array of hand-cut rock crystal prisms and drops. The structure is arranged in a double-tiered design, with candle-form lights positioned around scrolling bronze arms. Each arm supports a bobeche set with faceted rock crystal and further decorated with suspended teardrop and pendant-shaped prisms. The upper section features a series of crystal rosettes and finely cut pendalogues hanging from bead chains, while the entire frame is enriched with detailed scrolling ornamentation typical of the French Louis XVI style.
At the center, the chandelier is distinguished by a carved rock crystal parrot perched on a gilt bronze mount, its form rendered with naturalistic precision. Surrounding the parrot, faceted prisms of varying sizes are arranged in symmetrical tiers, catching and refracting light across the frame.
