About the Item
A large and rare French Belle Époque gilt bronze and cut-glass twenty-four light figural chandelier. The elongated gilt bronze frame with scrolled floral arms protruding from the lower section with frosted glass shades and beaded glass bulb covers; centered with a lit blown frosted-glass sphere crowed with a gilt bronze allegorical group of a seated cupid (cherub), with his bow and arrow satchel, next to a playful seated Putto. The arched and caged center section surmounted with female masks and cut-glass prisms drops. The bowed and caged upper section surmounted with strands of cut beaded-glass below gilt bronze wreaths, male masks and fluted floral lights. The bronze stamped "L H 21", Paris, circa 1900.
