French Cherub Pendant Light with Vaseline Glass Shade, circa 1900–1920 Description: A charming French pendant light dating from the early 20th century, circa 1900–1920, featuring a cast metal cherub figure suspended from a decorative twisted stem with ribbon motif. The metalwork has been finished in later applied gold leaf, lending a soft gilt appearance. The pendant supports a bell-shaped vaseline glass shade with opalescent tones, finely pressed with vertical ribbing and dotted decoration, and finished with an undulating edge. The shade is of good quality, typical of the late Victorian to Edwardian period. The light is suspended from a drop cord with later ruched silk covering. Professionally rewired and ready for installation. Origin: France, early 20th century Materials: Cast metal (gilded), vaseline glass, fabric-covered cord Dimensions: Height (overall drop): approx. 30 cm Width: approx. 20 cm Condition: Very good antique condition. Later gilt finish to the cherub. Minor wear consistent with age. No damage to the shade. Fully rewired.
