Large-Scale French Neoclassical Pendant with Amber Alabaster Bowl and Bronze Details
An elegant and substantial French Neoclassical pendant light featuring a richly veined amber alabaster bowl, bronze lion-head mounts, and a generously scaled silhouette that offers both presence and warm, atmospheric illumination.
This refined French pendant light dates to the early 20th century and is executed in a strong Neoclassical style, characterized by classical motifs, sculptural bronze detailing, and a balanced, monumental composition.
The centerpiece is a large amber alabaster bowl (45 cm diameter) with expressive natural veining, which becomes beautifully luminous when lit. The bowl is suspended by an ornate bronze chain system, complemented by classical fasteners and a decorative canopy. Stylized bronze lion-head mounts accent the rim, referencing motifs drawn from classical antiquity and reinforcing the Neoclassical character of the piece.
The fixture is fitted with three light points, providing excellent internal illumination that enhances the depth, color, and translucency of the alabaster.
