About the Item

A grand and expressive French Provincial chandelier dating from the 1940's, combining hand-wrought iron, carved wood, and an exceptional abundance of natural rock crystal and citrine elements. The richly scrolled iron arms sweep outward in two dramatic tiers, each fitted with wooden candle cups and electrified candle sleeves. Abundant hand-carved and polished rock crystal drops and citrine fruit-form ornaments—some in rare oversized proportions—cascade throughout the frame, catching the light with a subtle, organic brilliance. The wooden central column features deep foliate carving in a warm natural finish, creating a striking contrast with the dark patinated ironwork. The chandelier achieves a perfect balance of rustic French country character and refined decorative luxury, making it suitable for both traditional and eclectic interiors.
