Initially, the company specialized in selling wholesale lamps across Europe and the United States. The transition to a new era began when Antonin's son, Henri Petitot, took over the reins in 1917. Under Henri's leadership, along with esteemed contemporaries like Hettier et Vincent, Atelier Petitot rose to prominence as the leading producer of French Art Deco lighting by the early 1930s." Georges Leleu (1879-1946), an exceptional craftsman, founded his bronze lighting factory at the beginning of the 20th century in the iconic Faubourg Saint-Antoine district of Paris. Unlike his contemporaries, he distinguished himself by specializing exclusively in cast bronze, refusing to follow the fashion for wrought iron. His creations were also notable for their use of exclusive glassware, never signed by names like Muller, Schneider, or Degué, but often stamped with his own name or left anonymous to preserve their uniqueness. Each year, Georges Leleu unveiled his new products on double-sided printed posters, a unique approach that reinforced his brand identity. His talent and audacity were rewarded with a silver medal in the "Lighting" category at the 1925 International Exhibition of Decorative Arts, a tribute to his creative genius and his invaluable contribution to Art Deco.
