About the Item

This rare pair of pendant lamps by Gino Sarfatti, designed for Arteluce in 1958, embodies the refined minimalism that Sarfatti championed throughout his career. These lamps are a rare pendant variation of the model 37 wall lamp, using the same elegantly simple shade design. Likely created for a specific project, these pendants are seldom seen on the market, making them a valuable find for collectors and enthusiasts of mid-century modern lighting. Each lamp showcases Sarfatti’s signature minimalist style, where every element has a purpose, resulting in a restrained yet striking aesthetic. The polished aluminum center tube is paired with an off-white ring shade that is slightly larger in diameter, creating a subtle contrast that enhances the simplicity of the design. Inside, a diffuser made from off-white painted metal softens the light, providing a beautifully diffused glow that’s both warm and inviting. These lamps offer versatility, with adjustable cable lengths that can be tailored to the needs of any space, whether set high for a minimalist look or at staggered lengths for a playful arrangement. This flexibility allows the lamps to suit a range of interiors while maintaining their refined, modernist charm. In good original condition with some paint loss on the shades, these lamps reflect the exceptional quality of Arteluce’s craftsmanship and the timeless elegance of Sarfatti’s designs. Their understated beauty lies in their simplicity and superb material quality, making them a rare, functional art piece that enhances any contemporary or mid-century setting. Please note that the pendants are priced and sold as a set. These lamps are checked in our own atelier, cleaned and are also suitable for use in the USA. For US usage we could change the plug, or you can get a converter if needed for a floor or table lamp with transformer in it. Customization of height is available for an additional fee. Feel free to inquire for options.
