About the Item

According to unverified information, it comes from the estate of Mons. Kajetán Matoušek and was allegedly placed in the parish of St. Vojtech in Prague. It was made in the second half of the 19th century and was originally a candle chandelier. Around the middle of the 20th century, it was quite unprofessionally electrified. The chandelier is 110 cm high and 82 cm in diameter. The chandelier is composed of fine cast parts, which are chiseled in the places of floral elements and in the fluting. One brass screw was replaced by a new screw, already with a metric thread (see the red oval in the attached detailed photo). The original center bar was also replaced. It has been replaced by a threaded rod of smaller diameter so that electrical cables can be installed in the support column. One cast part - decorating the supporting column, has a defect. In the past, someone has tried to solder him and it is difficult to notice. It has no effect on the function of the chandelier (see the red oval in the attached detailed photo). The surface of the chandelier was only gently mechanically cleaned. A new electrification was performed.
