Fantastic lamp made of thin pine slats on a pine base gives a fantastic warm light.
Designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson who in 1951 founded his own lighting company Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB in Markaryd. He also designed lamps for his 2 other companies: AB Ellysett , also in Markaryd . Lamps made entirely of pine wood; this was his first step into the lighting business and his biggest success
AB Ellysett made many pine lamps for IKEA in the 1970s after his designs from the 50s and 60s. The material is the same, the construction too. When you have a lamp without a label, it is most likely a Hans-Agne Jakobsson lamp made for IKEA .
Hans-Agne Jakobsson's pine slat pendant lamp was used as a prop in the 2020 American Netflix television miniseries The Queen's Gambit .

Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer, who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was especially famous for his lighting designs, which often had a softly glowing light and organic shape. His designs were inspired by great, modern Scandinavian designers such as the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto and Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen.
