Wrought Iron. Elegant and rare, this French mid-century butterfly pendant ceiling light by Hettier-Vincent dates back to circa 1920. Featuring a thick frosted molded glass shade decorated with delicate butterflies and flowers, this vintage chandelier beautifully combines glass artistry with wrought-iron craftsmanship. The shade measures 21.7" (55 cm) in height and 7" (18 cm) in diameter.
Delivered wired for your country—whether US, UK, EU, China, or Australia—and compatible with LED bulbs, this fixture offers both style and modern functionality.
Hettier-Vincent was renowned as a premier French lighting maker, catering to Parisian high society. Their elegant bases and fixtures were crafted from bronze or wrought iron, paired with exquisite glass shades produced by the finest French glassworks of the era. The molded glass shades often came from Holophane (Les Andelys), known for its art glass collections under the Verlys and Des Hanots brands. Acid-etched and mottled glass shades typically originated from Muller Frères, while crystal shades were crafted by the prestigious Cristalleries de Baccarat.
Founded in the 1920s, Hettier-Vincent’s headquarters was located at 10 rue de Turenne, Paris. In 1929, they opened a distinguished boutique on the iconic Place des Vosges, a testament to their luxury market status. Each lighting design was unique for every season, with glass components sourced from top factories, most notably Holophane. Notably, the bronze or iron hardware by Hettier-Vincent is unsigned, emphasizing the exclusivity of their designs.
