Holger Johansson (1920–1997) was a renowned Swedish lighting designer. In 1952, he founded his own lighting company, Holger Johansson AB, in Stockholm. Influenced by the Scandinavian design movement of the mid-20th century, Johansson embraced principles of simplicity, functionality, and the use of natural materials. His work is widely celebrated for its minimalist aesthetic, featuring geometric forms and utilizing materials such as metal and glass. His works were used to decorate the ceilings of the Filadelfiakyrkan in Malmö, constructed in 1935 and designed by Swedish architects Carl-Axel Stoltz (1904–1975) and Birger Linderoth (1891–1971). Today, Johansson's designs are highly esteemed and often showcased in exhibitions and publications dedicated to modern design.
