About the Item

A most exquisite and unusually shaped Italian 18th century Louis XVI period gilt metal, giltwood and crystal chandelier. At the bottom is the original cut crystal ball. The chandelier with six 'S' scrolled arms are centered by a giltwood base supporting a wonderful crystal dagger. The elegantly decorated arms have beaded garlands joined by different levels of swaging garlands and kite shaped crystals, ending with giltwood saucers. The arms continue with an elongated 'C' scroll to the top crown ending with sprays accented with kite shaped crystals pendants and swaging garlands.
