About the Item

A beautiful and most decorative Italian 19th century giltwood, porcelain, and patinated iron chandelier. The nine arm chandelier is centered by a central charming richly carved inverted giltwood foliate finial below lovely scrolled movements. At the center is a striking and uniquely shaped scrolled spiral design with an exceptional and most elegant lattice pattern from where the arms branch out. Each gracefully scrolled arm is adorned with a luxuriant array of colorful blooming hand painted porcelain flowers and patinated metal leaves leading to reeded giltwood candle cups. Above is the originally painted iron canopy extension decorated with additional patinated metal leaves and charming acorns. All original patina throughout.
