About the Item

A most elegant Italian early 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood, gilt metal and crystal eight arm chandelier. The chandelier is centered by a beautiful solid cut crystal ball and a lovely and impressive array of prism shaped cut crystal pendants. Each charming gilt metal S scrolled arm displays fine giltwood bobeches and striking foliate designed crystal candle cups. The giltwood central fut displays richly carved acanthus leaves and is centered by a most decorative array of beaded crystal garlands. The top crown is decorated with fine prism shaped cut crystal pendants and lovely scrolled gilt metal designs. All original gilt throughout. * Shades are shown for display purposes only.
