About the Item

A most unique and high quality Italian 19th century Neo-Classical st. patinated bronze and ormolu hanging lantern. The lantern has three charming and expressive winged cherubs with rich and warm patina. The cherubs are holding to a fanciful and most impressive ormolu crown with shell designs amidst scrolls. The top of the crown decorated by acanthus leaves flanked by large stars. Three bronze link chains lead to the top patinated and ormolu canopy. The canopy has top ormolu acanthus leaves while at the bottom center is the silk wire leading to the central visible light bulb.
