About the Item

A beautiful Italian early 19th century Louis XV st. patinated off white iron and gilt metal twelve arm chandelier. The patinated off white iron cage has a wonderful open scrolled design. The frame is elegantly decorated by small beaded strands amidst larger beads. The chandelier has two levels of electrified arms which have a 'C' scroll shape and lead to a gilt metal candlecup and saucer. The arms are joined by swaging crystal garlands with central pendant kite and water drop prisms. The top of the chandelier has a spray of crystals all below the original gold colored silk tassel. Wonderful proportions.
