An Italian crystal and gilt column eight-light, circular chandelier. This vintage chandelier from Italy features a wooden central column, nicely carved in a wrapped acanthus leaf motif and beaded trim throughout its body, from which the iron armature emerges with a circular crown at top, and splay of upward and downward facing small arms, both tiers adorn in flower-head designed crystals connected with swags of crystals draping about the perimeters. The lower perimeter of the column (at topside of the wider gallery) holds the eight s-scrolled metal light arms, each embellished with draping crystal and Italian glass beads, with dangling icicle-shaped and flower-head crystals. The repeating delicate glass flowers throughout give a nice rhythm to the chandelier. Metal bobèches each support painted candle sleeves at their centers. An Italian blown-glass ball hangs from the bottom column finial to complete the look.
