About the Item

Danish architect and designer, Kay Kørbing, was known for his interior design of the M/S Winston Churchill and M/S Princesse Margrethe in the mid 20th century. This particular design was commissioned for the M/S Princesse Margrethe, but was also installed at the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen alongside Arne Jacobsen’s furniture designs. The solid brass cylinder has become richly patinated. When illuminated, light glows through a layer of thick crystal.
