Elegant Italian ceiling lamp model “BAJA” art. 5033, produced by Lamiprogetti during the 1980s. The design pays clear homage to Max Ingrand’s refined vocabulary for Fontana Arte, combining sculptural balance with a luminous serenity that defined Italian postwar lighting.
The lamp features a wide frosted glass diffuser—measuring 56.5 cm in diameter—that appears to float below a slender brass stem accentuated by a turned teak element. Inside, the structure houses three E27 bulb holders, allowing for generous, evenly diffused illumination through the satin glass. When lit, the lamp emits a warm, ambient glow that enhances both material and form.
This model represents Lamiprogetti’s sophisticated reinterpretation of mid-century Italian modernism, produced during a period when the company explored elegant, high-quality domestic lighting inspired by the earlier masters of Fontana Arte. The result is a timeless piece that bridges 1950s modernist purity with the craftsmanship and scale of the 1980s.
