About the Item
This large tasteful mid-century style aubergine Murano chandelier has six undulating scroll arms holding shallow cups, a bulbous center column, and a pointed decorative bulb at the bottom bowl. The body and arms of this piece are made of translucent aubergine-colored Murano glass lined with silver. The silver leaf was incorporated inside the glass to keep the light from diffusing through the colored glass, rather, the light is kept concentrated and thus makes the room brighter. The beautiful jewel-tone glass and silver gilt adds a sense of glamour and refinement to the piece.
The glasshouses on the island of Murano are famous for highly ornamented glass chandeliers made of pincered and molded blown glass. This simply designed but starkly colored chandelier is exceptionally made and showcases a mastery of Murano glasswork.

- Condition:Rewired: Rewired to US electrical standards, it takes six base-size bulbs, incandescent or LED. This fixture requires a canopy and chain which is not included. Three feet of wire at the top can be adjusted to the preferred height. Wear consistent with age and use. Glassblown, no part is identical. There might be natural imperfections, but no chips, or cracks in the glass. Parts are disassembled and require assembly. This fixture will require special handling by an experienced white glove service.
