About the Item

This stately Large French Neoclassical style chandelier radiates a refined elegance rooted in late 18th to early 19th-century design, seamlessly marrying architectural balance with the rich ornamentation of Empire-era grandeur. Suspended from a crown of delicately scrolled gilt bronze supports, the chandelier cascades in a sweeping conical form, richly draped with faceted lace crystal chains that gather into a circular gallery below. The frame is composed of gilt bronze rings, each adorned with an alternating rhythm of cut-crystal lace oval beads and sharply faceted icicle prisms. These lustrous elements catch and refract the light with brilliant precision, creating a shimmering cascade throughout the layered tiers. Six elegantly curved candle-form arms extend from the perimeter, each capped with faux wax sleeves and crowned by scalloped crystal bobeches, further festooned with hanging pendeloques and spear-shaped drops.
