A pair of 19" diameter grey enamel industrial pendants manufactured in England by The Benjamin Electric Ltd circa 1940. A design classic, this design variant is arguably the most popular produced by the company and one which during the industrial era would of graced the majority of factory's throughout the British Isles and beyond. The steel "C Type" galleries have been burnished on a wire wheel to expose the raw metal and highlight the makers markings, these have then been lacquered to protect the metal. Part of a large haul of reclaimed industrial lights from a former steel works in the North East of England. These wonderful vitreous grey enamel angled factory lights are an early version circa 1920's with cast steel galleries. These parabolic lights were popular choice during the industrial age of Great Britain, a versatile light which would of originally been used in a whole host of sinarious including illuminating car production lines, lighting market stalls of Britain's historic city markets such as billingsgate and highlighting signage and wall displays inside out outside factory's. The existing finish has been sealed to emphasise the patina of the metal. Fully refurbished today they are equally as versatile either as a ceiling pendant or wall mounted light. Installed in a run these make a wonderful feature for bar and restaurant lighting...
