Stunning and large antique alabaster pendant of great quality, 1910s.
This rare fixture from the heydays of the European Art Deco era will light up both your days and evenings. Its remarkable, circular and layered shade is all hand carved out of one solid rock of alabaster. For this flush mount they clearly picked a beautiful rock for it comes with some unique veins and patches and they clearly polished the surface to perfection, making it even more special. It is in very good condition from top to bottom and the beautifully spread, thunderstroke-like black veins contrast even more when the light is switched on. Also, because the dark veins then turn pitch black against an even whiter background and that contrast truly is amazing to look at. The stunning, layered Art Deco shade is beautifully round at the bottom and the black color chain and alabaster canopy are like the icing on the cake of this work of art (deco) light fixture. As you can see in our images, there also are a number of white, near translucent veins and patches that make this creation-of-mother-nature-pendant even more fascinating. So this not only is one of the most stylish Art Deco alabaster lights we have ever had the pleasure of offering, it also is in a very good condition. It must have taken one highly skilled craftsman a whole lot of time to perfectly hand create this remarkable Art Deco design and for it to still be in such good condition after 100 years too is like an ode to his craftsmanship. We could shoot many more photos, but you still would not be able to see the true beauty of this stunning light fixture. In real life (or in person) our alabaster lights always have that little bit more and this remarkable and ideal size pendant is no exception. Mind you, this striking two light pendant is rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage in the USA as well and thanks to the metal hook inside the adjustable canopy, safely mounting this light tight to your ceiling is child's play.
