About the Item
French Art Deco modernist chandelier by PETITOT (Paris), France, 1920s. This chandelier features a striking design in chromed metal and transparent pink glass. It includes three vertical glass plaques and a disk, all crafted from transparent and sand-etched pink glass, showcasing the signature style of the period. The chandelier measures: Height: up to 19.5" (49.5cm), Diameter: 16.5" (42cm), and is in very good condition with minor traces of age on the chrome. Delivered fully wired for use in your country (US, UK, EU, Australia, China, etc.). It is illustrated in the Petitot's catalogue under Ref #15519, page 31.
Antonin Petitot, the founder of the company in 1878, was succeeded by his son Henri in 1917. While they had a shop in Paris, Petitot primarily operated as a wholesaler, selling their exquisite lighting fixtures to shops across France, Europe, and the United States. In the early 1930s, together with Hettier
Vincent, Petitot became one of the largest producers of French Art Deco lighting. The company was known for its high-quality bronze fixtures and collaboration with renowned French glass manufacturers such as Sabino, Jean Gauthier, Muller Freres, Degue, and Schneider.
