About the Item
This MCM Italian pendant light features a sculptural frame of gracefully curved brass tubing supporting a hand‑blown green opaline glass shade edged in white. The distinctive bell‑like form and airy silhouette embody the elegance of postwar Italian modernism, recalling designs produced by Fontana Arte and other Milanese ateliers of the 1950s.
The pendant balances simplicity and sophistication — the brass structure with pale mint accents complements the semi‑translucent green glass, creating a soft, diffused illumination.
Craftsmanship details, such as the precision‑shaped fittings and carefully brazed joints where the arms meet the central hub, reflect the skilled, small‑workshop methods characteristic of mid‑century Italian lighting. This fixture requires a canopy and chain, which are not included. Wear consistent with age and use. Slight asymmetry inherent to its artisanal production. No cracks, chips on the glass.
